Maria Kouyoumdzi was born in 1945 in Thessaloniki, where she lives. Rough Velvet is her first book. Her short stories have been published in the literary magazines Lexi, Εndefktirion, Parodoς, Pandora, Paremvasi and Eneken. Her poetry has been published in Endefktirion και Parodos..
