Filomila Lapata

Filomila Lapata was born in Athens and now divides her time between Greece and Italy. She has written the following novels: The water maidens (2002), Lacryma Christi – The tears of Christ (2004), In the name of the mother (2005), Dangerous words (2007) and The barefoot girl of Athens (2010). She was awarded the Città di Bacoli prize in 2005 and the “Sebetia-Ter” Premio Internazionale per la Cultura in 2006. Her books have all featured on the Greek bestsellers list.
